I could nt create a Sql Server ODBC with Norton autoprotect ON
when i disable Norton Autoprotect, the DSN Creation is successful.

Some sort of antiviruses do not allow to connect/ creates problem in connectivity that is very comman problem by them..
try to install same version of antivirus on client pc, then try

Connection.Mode=adModeRead fails?

vb6+mssql2000 i want to disable updates by set cn.mode=adModeRead. inspite
of this, i can do modifications without error... any tip? what should i
check?

It could be that provider does not support this mode. What is your
connection string?

actually I tried myself with VB6, OLE DB provider, ADO 2.6 and had the same
result indeed..
